Samsung’s New 2-in-1 Notebook 7 Spin Offers Fast Charging

Samsung is announcing a new Windows 10 laptop in the burgeoning convertible segment: the Notebook 7 Spin. The system is a high-end product with just enough special features to distinguish itself.

The display on the front comes in 13.3 and 15.5-inch configurations. The resolution remains 1080p either way. It supports the “Video HDR” mode for making content appear livelier and more vivid.

Under the hood, you get an Intel Core i5 processor in the smaller version along with integrated graphics, or a Core i7 with Nvidia’s 960MX GPU in the larger model. The smaller model gets 8 GB worth RAM, while the larger one is home to either 12 or 16 GB combinations. Storage is set at a 1 TB HDD, with a secondary 128 GB SSD in the 16 GB model.

Connectivity is especially well-covered with USB Type-C, USB Type-A (2 x 2.0, 1 x 3.0), Ethernet, HDMI and a headphone jack. Of course, there will be Wi-Fi and Bluetooth to cover wireless. The Windows 10-running Notebook 7 Spin also supports Windows Continuum. Backlit keyboard comes as standard.

The big focus here is on the design, which supports laptop, tablet and tent modes. It’s good to see fast-charging finally making its way to laptops. Here, it will provide 2 hours’ worth juice in just 20 minutes, taking just 90 minutes to fully charge the bigger model.

Price is set at $800 (Approx. Rs. 84,000) for the starting model, making it an attractive entry in the convertible market. It will be available starting from the end of June.
