Senior Devs, Game Designers Come Out on Top in P@SHA IT Salary Survey 2016

The 6th P@SHA Annual IT Salary Survey 2016 conducted by the Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT & ITES (P@SHA) highlights the average salaries of IT employees nationally and city wise along with average increments, promotions and benefits for 28 different job roles.

Close to 150 companies participated in the survey this year, and data from 32,744 employees working in 28 job roles and 98 unique levels both in core IT and business roles has been compiled in the report.

According to this year’s survey, there has been an overall increment of 13.04% in salaries across all job functions as compared to 2015.

  • The highest paid job function right now in is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) who on average earns PKR 484,520 (which is an increase of 26.4% over 2015).
  • The highest increase in salary this year has been in that of Senior Web Developer with a growth of 37.06%
  • The salaries of experienced Game Designers saw an increment of more than 33% compared to 2015.

The IT & ITES Industry of Pakistan provides direct employment to around 120,000 people and relies on this human resource to maintain its high growth. 61% companies and 17,177 (52%) employees from Karachi participated in the survey, 30% companies and 8,508 (26%) employees from Lahore and 22% companies and 7,021 (21%) employees from Islamabad. 2 companies from Peshawar also participated in the survey this year.
