Kyocera DuraForce Pro is the First Military Grade Action-Camera Smartphone

Here’s an interesting phone from Kyocera. It is the world’s smartphone with an action camera, and using a special accessory it will support popular action camera mounts (using an accessory).

The Kyocera DuraForce Pro has a 13 MP camera on the back with a wide 135-degree field of view. It is capable of recording 1080p videos and has a bunch of shooting modes, including sports, underwater, time lapse and slo-mo.

To compete better with GoPros of the world, it has IP68 certification (underwater for 30 minutes at 2 meters) as well as Military Standard 810G protection against “dust, shock, vibration, temperature extremes, blowing rain, low pressure, solar radiation, salt fog, humidity, immersion, temperature shock and icing/freezing rain”.

Apart from that, you have a fairly standard phone with 5-inch 1080p display with two 100 dB front displays. Underneath, you’ll find an octa-core Snapdragon 617 processor with 2 GB RAM and 32 GB expandable storage.

Battery capacity is set at 3240 mAh while Quick Charge 2.0 is also supported. Pricing details are not known right now.
