Pakistan International Airlines, which is making all possible efforts to revive its lost glory, may get five new 787 Dreamliners from Boeing, a letter written by Boeing company to Mr. Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, hinted.
President and CEO of Boeing, in a letter sent to Pakistan high-ups just last week, said that Boeing is interested in converting PIA’s existing lease agreement for five 777-300ERs into Boeing’s latest aircraft 787 Dreamliner.
Boeing invited Pakistani government to explore opportunities for getting the latest 787 Dreamliner jets, which are hailed as one of the most fuel-efficient ones around.
Boeing said that it could work with PIA to ensure smooth transition and adoption of the new airliners in Pakistan.
Pakistan International Airline recently introduced PIA Premier service with enhanced value addition for passengers on three Airbus 330-300 jets. The service, which received positive reviews could be a start to the revival of the national carrier.
Pakistan currently has plentiful of routes that have been abandoned due to incapacity of planes.
Boeing said that with 787 Dreamliner, PIA could revive its long-haul flights with superior services and unmatched experience throughout Asia and Europe.
Boeing’s flagship 787 Dreamliner is a long-range, mid-size widebody plane that comes with up to 335 passenger capacity.
787 Dreamliner’s distinguishing features include mostly electrical flight systems and less-noisy engines. Any pilot with Boeing 777 experience can also operate the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
