ICI Dulux recently launched the new version of its Visualizer app for iOS and Android. The app uses technology to help users see, share and paint in their chosen colours in real time.
Users can capture a video of their walls and experiment with hundreds of different colours. If they see a inspirational colour somewhere, they can use the Colour Picker technology to instantly match and try it out.
Once a user finds the colour he or she loves, they can buy the same coloured paint by going to a store. Store locations are available via the store locator function. Finally, they can share it with friends and family on social media to get a second opinion, directly through the Visualizer app.
The app uses augmented reality and video visualization to change colours in a room in real time. Since, the app was first launched it has been downloaded over 10 million times.
“Colour is the number one decision factor when consumers choose paint,” said Usman Hafaz, Marketing Manager at AkzoNobel Pakistan Decorative Paints Division.
Research shows that 30 percent people struggle to visualize what a colour will look like in their home, and 39 percent discuss colour schemes with friends and family before making a purchase. The new features in the Visualizer app build on these trends.
“The Visualizer is a tool designed to give consumers confidence to try new colours, quickly see the potential end result of their purchase, and share with friends to get their views,”explained Usman Hafaz
The app is marketed under the ICI Dulux brand. The app can be downloaded via Play Store for Android and App Store for iOS.
