Due to Eid Holidays next week, State Bank of Pakistan has advised all banks across Pakistan to remain open on Saturday, September 10th, 2016.
It maybe recalled that not all banks operate on Saturdays, but due to extended Eid-ul-Adha holidays starting Sunday till Wednesday, the central bank has now mandated all banks to remain open for consumer banking on Saturday as well.
A SBP advisory said, “It is advised that “ALL” branches of commercial banks & MFBs will remain open on Saturday, 10th September, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM in order to cater the banking needs of general public. Banks & MFBs are accordingly advised to ensure that their branches should strictly observe the aforesaid timings”.
