Move Over DC & Marvel, the Valiant Universe is Coming to Pakistan!

If you thought recent blockbusters ‘Captain America: Civil War’ and ‘Suicide Squad’ were entertaining, a whole new epic universe about to take the world by storm. Brace yourself: Valiant Entertainment, the largest independent superhero universe with characters like X-O Manowar, Harbinger, and Bloodshot, has something special planned for their fans in Pakistan.

Valiant are bringing their comics to Pakistan with CFx Comics, the digital comics app that brought readers the internationally acclaimed ‘Paasban – the Guardian’ series, ‘Haider’, and ‘Khiladi’ comic series. From the looks of things, Pakistani audiences are about to start idolizing a whole new roster of superheroes!

Founded in the United States in 1989, Valiant Entertainment has been making some serious noise over the last several years. An award-winning comics publisher with more than 2,000 characters in its library, Valiant also has multiple movie deals on the horizon. But their reputation has already reached a global level, with distribution extending across several continents for numerous foreign languages.

In a prior interview with Tech Insider, Valiant’s Dinesh Shamdasani declared that they are competing with ‘two giant conglomerates – Warner Bros. and Disney; not Marvel and DC.’

To start us off, their most popular series ‘Bloodshot’, ‘Harbinger’, and ‘X-O-Manowar’ will be published on the free CFx Comics app starting February 3rd, 2017.

Gauher Aftab, (CEO, CFx Comics) has labelled this union as another step towards realizing the company’s goal of making their app the one-stop for Pakistan’s comic fix. “We’re bringing comic books from all across the globe to every cell phone and tablet in Pakistan,” Gauher expands, revealing the bigger picture of what is in store for CFx Comics and the Pakistani comic book fans.

What we can expect is for the people to discover all the awesome art that’s just out there, waiting to be explored and admired; and with this, our own local talent will find the inspiration to publish their content.

To kick things off, the first Valiant three series to be featured on the CFx Comics app are Bloodshot – a tale of an unkillable, enhanced super-soldier, Harbinger – which follows a group of teenagers armed with psychic superpowers who will headline Valiant’s first planned movie; and X-O Manowar – one of Valiant’s most iconic superheroes, and a time-displaced Visigoth warrior with a sentient suit of armor.

But that’s not all. When CFx Comics speaks about establishing their app as the go-to point for comic books, they don’t merely upload international comics but make the content available in Urdu as well, letting readers experience their favorite stories in whichever language they choose. The task has been taken up by Hashim Bukhari and Hammad Anwar of CFx Comics.

“When I first heard Valiant was coming to Pakistan, I could barely control myself!” exclaimed Hashim. Speaking about the additional value these comics will bring, he said

Translating all this content into Urdu is kind of unprecedented, as almost all Western art reaches our audiences translated in Hindi. They can’t enjoy the experience as fully as they would in their own language. Combine that with all the visual stimulation comics offer, and we’re not only keeping the culture of reading alive, but we’re giving people uber-cool new stuff that’ll keep them interested in Urdu!

Expanding upon the benefits of bringing these comic books on to their free app, Hammad Anwar says,

With the rise in ownership of smartphones and tablets, Pakistan’s digital footprint is growing, and the same technology and digital platforms are increasingly becoming available to people across all socio-economic segments. All of them will be able to access the diverse comic content we’re bringing! So whether you want to read homegrown comic series like ‘Paasban, Khiladi, or Haider,’ or if you’re into Mughal-era sword and sandal action like ‘Zindan’ or action-packed sci-fi like ‘Bloodshot and XO-Manowar,’ you need to look no further than our app.

The comics release on the CFx Comics app in February 2017, so it’s time to stop missing out and jump into the Valiant Universe. By the time the movie’s release next year, you’ll be lording it over your friends as they rush to catch up!
