Development Projects Worth over Rs. 150 Billion Approved

The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved several development projects worth billions of rupees across the country.

The approval was given at a meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday with Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal in the chair.

The projects include Rs. 80 billion Khichi Canal project, Rs. one billion for revised project of Mohmand dam, Rs. 440 million for twenty small dams in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The meeting also approved revised feasibility study for Muzaffarabad Rail link of Rs. 125 million, Transport Infrastructure Planning and Management Unit costing Rs. 200 million.

The meeting also approved the position paper of 233 billion rupees Chashma Power Plant-III and IV.

The CDWP recommended the construction of high tech agriculture center in Agriculture University Faisalabad.

The meeting also approved the project for increasing strength of children in schools and provision of quality education in Balochistan.

Other approved projects include:

• Establishment of Pak-Korea Hi-Tech Agricultural Innovation Cener/ Tech Park (Phase-1), Faislabad worth Rs. 3,051.375M
• IT Industrial Innovation, Research Center&Strengthening of Islamic College University, Peshawar worth Rs. 1,545.288M
• Risk Based Control of Foot&Mouth Disease in Pakistan with a cost of Rs. 763.990Million
• Chashma Nuclear Power Project Unit-3 & Unit-4 (C-3/C-4) that will cost Rs. 23,386.9 Million
• Integrated Transport Infrastructure Planning & Management Unit – total cost Rs. 207.737Million
• Feasibility study for new rail link Islamabad-Murree-Muzafarabad 106km with a revised cost of Rs. 125.900 Million
• Dualization & Improvement of Indus Highway N-55 Sarai Gambila to Kohat worth Rs. 30,130 Million
• Project Approved and Recommended to ECNEC – Dualization &Improvement of Old Bannu Road worth Rs. 17,995million
• Construction of 20 small Dams in KPK with a revised cost of Rs. 439.974 Million #CDWP
• Kachhi canal project worth Rs. 80,352million that will provide 6000cusecs water to multiple Districts of Balochistan #CDWP
