According to a local media channel, a man abandoned his girlfriend over a Rs. 5000 bill for a ride hailing service.
The as-of-yet unidentified man booked a car through an online ride hailing service and went on what seems to be a very thorough exploration of the city with his girlfriend.
Once the trip ended, the driver conveyed the total amount to the passengers, which came to about Rs. 5,000. Faced with such a gigantic bill, the man escaped from the ride, leaving his girlfriend behind to foot the bill.
The Rs. 5,000 bill included trips during the day to different parks with the couple having the time of their lives. Upon time of payment, they started arguing with the driver, saying that they did not have the cash to pay for the trip.
Faced with an uncomfortable situation and that too through no fault of his own, the driver got annoyed and stopped the car near the PTV station in Karachi and called the police. The police got to the destination quickly enough but the male passenger ran away, leaving the girl in the car. She was taken to the police station and will be allowed to leave after she pays the amount to the driver, according to the police.
It’s still too early to ascertain whether this is a new racket or a one-off incident.

How innocent, ignorance is bliss, shall I share how many times my comments were deleted and ip blocked? That too when comments were decent but showing some bitter reality. Let’s see if you let this comment through as I will be keeping traces and screenshots for reference. Can also share those comments screenshots which were deleted :) so let’s not play holy here. For someone who has first reaction against a difficult comment to try and trace ip, it’s amazing to hear about positivity.
