Samsung Galaxy S8 Has the Best Display Ever On a Smartphone

Each year, Samsung’s flagships come with the cutting-edge display technology and outperform all competitors in terms of quality. This year is no different as DisplayMate has tested and graded the Samsung Galaxy S8’s screen as the “best ever display on a smartphone”.

The report released by DisplayMate, which specializes in testing displays for color accuracy and calibration, provides a comprehensive analysis of the device’s high-end screen along with its enhanced software features.

With an Infinity Display that can reach a brightness of 1020 nits, it’s surely one of brightest smartphones out there. Moreover, it features a flexible OLED display which fills nearly the entire front face of the phone.

The report states:

Improvements in the Samsung Galaxy S8:

• Enhanced configurable Edge Display for the curved screen sides.

• Standard Wide Color Gamut called DCI-P3 for Digital Cinema Initiative, which was absent in Galaxy S7.
• The measured Galaxy S8 Screen Reflectance is 4.5 % which is slightly better than the Galaxy S7.
• Galaxy S8’s Automatic Brightness is equal to the Galaxy S7 and is 19% brighter than Galaxy S7.
• The Color Shifts with Viewing Angle are relatively small and somewhat better than the Galaxy S7.

With a brand new design, gorgeous display and a host of features, Samsung seems to be on track to rectify the mistakes it made with the Note 7.
