Huawei has announced a new entry-level phone, the Nova Smart. The phone’s specs may sound familiar, especially as they closely resemble that of the Enjoy 6s.
The Nova Smart pretty much fits the caricature of an ideal entry-level Android phone. It has a 5-inch AMOLED display on the front with 720p HD resolution to boot. The design is fairly good-looking with a metallic finish. Above the display sits a 5 MP shooter.
Next, you have the processor, which is the decidedly mid-range Snapdragon 435, with its eight cores clocked at 1.4GHz. That’s accompanied by an Adreno 505 GPU, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage, expandable to 128 GB via the microSD card slot.
The back sports a single-lens 13 MP rear camera with LED Flash alongside. The OS version running here is the fairly old Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Emotion UI, which won’t help win the Nova Smart any accolades.
The battery capacity of the phone is set at 3020 mAh, which may or may not be user-replaceable. Paired with the Snapdragon 435 and a 720p display this could translate into respectable battery life. It will be available in Space Gray and Gold flavors.
Pricing is set at $215 for the Nova Smart, though, retail availability might be a bit of a hassle. Anyhow, the phone might have trouble competing with the Redmi Note 4s of the world.
