Leaked: This is HTC’s New Flagship U 11

HTC’s recent venture into the smartphone realm with the U Ultra was botched by the launch of Samsung Galaxy S8 and the LG G6. The Taiwanese smartphone maker is already planning ahead with the rumored HTC U 11 due for release on May 16th, 2017.

Fortunately, we won’t need to guess or hold on to our wallets for long. The full spec sheet was leaked for the U 11 which will answer most of your questions about the phone. All of these specifications are rumored so take it with a grain of salt.

Here’s the leaked image:

Edge Sense

The spec sheet was shared by MySmartPrice and leaves little to the imagination. As we’ve already heard through rumors, the headline is likely the “Edge Sense” feature which allows the phone to be controlled by squeezing its sides.

U 11’s display will house a 5.5-inch QHD panel with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and Dual SIM support.

Under the hood sits a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with up to 6 GB RAM and up to 128 GB storage, which is expandable up to 2 TB via a microSD slot. Possibly, there will also be a variant with 64 GB storage and 4 GB worth RAM, which won’t disappoint either.

Return of Ultra Pixel?

On the back, there will be an “Ultra Pixel 3” 12 MP camera with f/1.7 aperture, optical image stabilization, and a LED Flash. It is also said to boast “UltraSpeed AF” which could be HTC’s take on laser autofocus. Up front is a bigger 16 MP front sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi ac, 4G LTE, and NFC. The audio prowess will be continued by HTC’s renowned BoomSound technology while USound headphones might be bundled. There’s active noise cancellation during recordings, as well as 3D audio recording.

Apart from being “edge” sensitive, the phone’s body also supports IP57 water and dust resistance.

In addition, the phone will also support Quick Charge 3.0. The battery capacity is still unknown but knowing HTC, you can expect it to fall near 3,000 mAh.

Watch this space for any further developments.
