Wahab Riaz Has Been Put Up for Sale on eBay for $1

If you thought getting smacked around the cricket ground or being ruled out of one of the biggest ODI events was the worst that could happen to Wahab Riaz, you were mistaken.

Pakistan’s unreliable fast bowler has been put up for sale on eBay with a price tag of only AU$1 and buyers seem to be interested in the auction.

The auction listing was published by an Australian citizen who goes by the profile name mrdenn1s on eBay and “DennisCricket_  (Hindustan Zindabad)” on Twitter. The seller seems frustrated by Wahab Riaz’s inconsistent performances and his failure to have a positive impact in Pakistan’s matches.

The description on the ad says

WAHAB RIAZ – I don’t need him anymore. Some wear and tear. Hairy. Bought Wahab in 2008 hoping he could win matches for Pakistan. He can intimidate Shane Watson but can’t get them out.

The ad listing has been removed from the popular auction website but during the short time that it was accessible, around 50 bids were placed on Wahab Riaz. By then, the price had gone up to about AU$ 610.

Wahab hasn’t been in the best of form lately and getting pummeled by Indian batsmen in the all-important Champions Trophy opener didn’t help his cause. He got injured in the same game and was forced to return to Pakistan after being replaced by Rumman Raees in the 15 man squad.

We hope this doesn’t discourage him from working hard and regaining his spot in the international side.
