Heavy Rainfall and Thunderstorms Expected Across Pakistan

As the monsoon spell in the country continues, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted heavy rainfall and thunderstorm in several cities on Tuesday.

According to PMD, Pakistan will witness monsoon currents and they are likely to continue during the next couple of days.

A shallow westerly wave is still affecting northern parts of the country and is likely to persist during 2-3 days.

In the next 24-hours, rainfall is expected in following places:

  • Punjab
    • Lahore
    • Gujranwala
    • Rawalpindi
    • Sargodha
    • Faisalabad
    • Bahawalpur
    • Multan
    • Sahiwal
    • D.G.Khan
  • Balochistan
    • Zhob
    • Kalat
    • Sibbi
    • Quetta
    • Naseerabad
    • Makran
  • Sindh
  • Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
  • FATA
  • Islamabad
  • Kashmir
  • Gilgit-Baltistan

A request has made by the Met Office for the authorities to remain alert as there is a huge risk of flooding in vulnerable areas and mountain landsliding.
