Pakistan Army has stepped up its efforts to promote the people of Pakistan, starting with Samar Khan, a cyclist.
The Army has sponsored Samar for her participation in the upcoming mountain cycling event in Tanzania.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on Monday, said:
On [the] special instructions of army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Pakistan Army is financially sponsoring talented young cyclist Samar Khan, [who hails] from Dir, Malakand division in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), for her participation in mountain cycling event in Tanzania this November.
This is not the first time Samar has taken on a task such as scaling highest peak Kilimanjaro in Africa. Previously, Samar has cycled on glaciers in Karakoram range.
She is renowned for cycling on the 4,500-metre-high Biafo glacier in Gilgit-Baltistan — the first woman in the world to do so. Apart from cycling, she is also fond of paragliding, trekking, and mountain climbing.
Furthermore, Samar is a Master’s degree holder in Physics and has taken up cycling as a profession to pursue her passion for the sport.
This is indeed a great gesture by the Pakistan Army, supporting Samar in achieving her lifelong dream.
