Xiaomi has announced a new variant of its Mi 6 flagship smartphone, this time for people who don’t need the extra 2 GB of RAM available in the previously announced model.
The new version of the phone comes with a 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM module, instead of 6 GB one. It also comes with 64 GB of storage, the lowest of the two storage options (the other being 128 GB) available for the Mi 6 at its launch.
The reduction in memory also brings a slightly lower price tag, as the phone is now available for 2299 Yuan, or $345, rather than 2249 Yuan of the 6GB model. That is a difference of around $30, which is just about right for a cheaply-priced flagship phone.
The rest of the specs are pretty much shared between the two variants. The display remains the same at 5.15” with IPS LCD 1080p panel, which is enough for most situations, apart from VR perhaps.
Under the hood is a Snapdragon 835 processor with its eight cores. There’s a fingerprint scanner on the back, below the dual 12 MP camera setup (wide-angle plus telephoto). At the front you get an 8 MP camera.
The battery capacity is remains the same at 3,350 mAh which supports Quick Charge 3.0.
