Punjab Free WiFi Rolls Out in Faisalabad

Free Wi-Fi is probably the best thing you could ask for when you are waiting at the bus station getting bored or at the playground waiting for your friends who told you they would be on time but are late. Good news for everyone in Faisalabad as the free Wi-Fi hotspot service has finally available in the city.

Punjab government and Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) announced the project a few years ago and Faisalabad will only now gets access to it.

Locations Covered

Following locations have been covered in Faisalabad as part of the free Wi-Fi initiative.

  • Chowk Ghanta Ghar
  • Children Hospital
  • GC University
  • City Terminal
  • Railway Station
  • D Ground Park
  • Ghulam Muhammad Abbas Park

How to

To gain access to the Wi-Fi first step is, well it’s pretty basic, you need to turn on the Wi-Fi from your phone. Follow these simple steps;

  • Scan for networks
  • Find Punjab Wi-Fi
  • Tap on Punjab Wi-Fi

A page will open which will prompt you to feed certain information.

  • The page will ask you to add your mobile phone number
  • A verification code will be sent to your phone
  • Enter this code on the page and it will take you to the next on
  • It will ask you to enter your name and email address

Once you submit this information you will be able to connect to the Wi-Fi. Your phone will automatically connect to any hotspot in the city (in range) when turned on, no need to fill the form every time you come across a hotspot. Enjoy the unlimited browsing and downloading, for free!
