Injury Woes: Shadab Khan’s Participation Against New Zealand Under Question

Pakistani all-rounder Shadab Khan has picked up a groin problem ahead of New Zealand tour, the sources confirmed.

The 19-year-old was reportedly seen limping in a training session. However, the reports also claim that the injury is not that serious.

To avoid any risk, the team management decided to send Shadab to National Cricket Academy (NCA) for rehabilitation.

In best case scenario, the spinner is expected to make full recovery within a week and will be able to represent Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) in domestic circuit.

Another player who recently struggled with fitness was Imad Wasim, who was recovering from a knee injury. Although Imad’s injury was much serious in nature, he is now also participating in fielding drills.

Sources confirm that both players will be given a chance to prove their fitness before the New Zealand tour this week.

Other players who are currently either injured or are recovering include Usman Shinwari, Azhar Ali and Ruman Raees.

No replacements have been named in case if Imad and Shadab fail their fitness test. However, Muhammad Nawaz and Asif Ali are expected to be called up instead.
