The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), on Tuesday, arrested its own Deputy Director Cyber Crime Wing Balochistan, Nauman Ashraf Bodla, on charge of holding a “fake degree”.
According to details, FIA registered a case against him before making the arrest. Nauman Ashraf Bodla was recruited in FIA as a Manager Technology in 2006. The post required the applicants to have a Masters degree in Computer Science for the PS-16 post.
However, Nauman Ashraf Bodla was promoted to PS-18 in the Counter Terrorism Wing despite the fact that he hadn’t pass the due examinations of Public Service Commission.
After working as PS-18 officer, Bodla presented a certificate of Newports Institute of Communications and Economics (NICE), however, this university wasn’t included in any chartered foreign universities nor Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized universities, hence, HEC failed to recognize his degree.
After considering these facts, FIA concluded that Nauman Ashraf Bodla had badly damaged the reputation of the institution and grabbed the higher grade ranks through illegitimate means.
Therefore, FIA registered a case against him under section 109, 34, 420, 468-P, PPC (2) 19475 and later arrested him.
