Using Google Keep for making book lists is self-evident, but this app has more to offer to make your reading pleasurable. Kindles, phones and laptops run out of battery, and typically don’t last a long day under the shade of a tree. Paperbacks smell nice, make soft rustles and are delightful to the touch. But when you feel the need to transfer a bit of heavenly wisdom from a book to your phone, you dread the typing.
Google Keep allows you to get transcribed text from images. There are two methods to go about this:
Camera App: You can take pictures from your phone’s camera app (even multiple pages at once) and then share them to Keep. These images can be cropped to the particular line or dialogue (“I had not known you a month before I felt that you were the last man on Earth I could be prevailed on to marry!”).
Keep Photo: Alternatively, you can take the photo directly in the Keep app and save even more time. You will not, however, be able to to crop the image to Elizabeth Bennet’s refusal of Mr Darcy. All you have to do is select the photo and click “Grab Image Text”.
Of course, you aren’t limited to Google Keep for doing this. Other apps like OneNote, Google Goggles, Text Fairy, PDF Scanner can also be used if you don’t like Google Keep or use other note taking apps.
