HP’s Snapdragon Powered Envy X2 Lasts a Day on a Single Charge

HP has started taking pre-orders for its first ever Windows 10 PC powered by an ARM processor.

The HP Envy x2 is a 2-in-1 tablet with a hefty price tag of $999.99.

Previously, the concept of “always connected PCs” was announced by some of the mega companies including HP, Asus, and Lenovo in collaboration with Qualcomm.

According to the plan, the PCs were to be rolled out by 2019 but it seems like HP is going one step ahead of the others and is going to start shipping the Envy X2 from March 9th.

Design and Display

The 2-in-1 laptop/tablet has a 12.3-inch screen. The interesting thing here is that it flaunts an edge-to-edge 1920 x 1280 pixel display.

It measures 11.5 x 8.3 x 0.27 inches and weighs just over 1.54 pounds (around 0.7 KG), so you can literally take it anywhere with you.

The backlit keyboard detaches from the body so that the laptop can be used purely as a tablet. It looks a lot like the HP Spectre x2 but the specs make it quite different.

Hardware and Connectivity

Here’s a brief list of its specifications:

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor
  • 4GB of RAM and 128GB of UFS storage
  • Adreno 540 GPU
  • Built-in Bluetooth 5.0 and 802.11ac Wi-Fi
  • A nano-SIM card reader for LTE data SIM
  • USB 3.1 Type-C port
  • MicroSD slot and a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack
  • An out of the box stylus, case, and a kit stand

For the OS, you get Windows 10 S, which is very limited compared to the regular Windows 10.However you can upgrade it to the standard Windows 10 Pro for free.

Apart from the above-mentioned specs, the 2-in-1 laptop has built-in stereo speakers made by Bang & Olufsen.

Camera and Battery

The convertible comes with a 13-megapixel back camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing selfie camera. Moreover, an array of three-microphones is also embedded in the body.

HP claims that the laptop has a multimedia battery life of up to 20 hours for full HD videos. These specifications probably justify the $999.99 price tag of the Envy x2.
