Finally, the crowd had a relatively high-scoring game as Islamabad United chased down a target of 154 with ease, something which has been lacking in this year’s PSL.
Toss: Islamabad United won the toss and elected to field.
Karachi Kings Innings
Careful half-centuries from Khurram Manzoor and Babar Azam, after the early departure of Joe Denly and a cameo from Mohammad Rizwan at the end of the innings made sure that Karachi had a seemingly decent total on the board.
All-rounder Faheem Ashraf curbed the flow of the runs with 3-23 in his 4 overs restricting Karachi to 153-6
Islamabad United Innings
Fireworks at the top order by Luke Ronchi, who smashed 3 sixes and 10 fours in a 37-ball 71, and a cautious innings by JP Duminy (43*) helped United storm past the total posted by Kings as Islamabad registered their third win out of five matches.
It seems Kings were too cautious of the conditions even though the pitch was very good for batting, as proven in the latter 25 overs of the match.
