This is the Breakdown of Donations Towards Diamer Bhasha & Mohmand Dam Fund

Following the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), Saqib Nisar’s order to start the construction of Diamer-Basha and Mohmand dams in the fiscal year 2018-19, a bank account titled ‘Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dam Fund-2018’ was set up by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to collect donations from people living in Pakistan and abroad.

Huge donations have been made by Pakistanis, including the armed forces, CJP, Chairman Senate, Malik Riaz, Shahid Afridi and a number of celebrities to name a few.

The overall donations collected as of 31 July 2018 stood at Rs. 507 million (507,646,926). Within a couple weeks, Pakistanis have donated huge sums of money to help in the construction of a dam which is the need of the hour as a water crisis looms over the country. With reports suggesting that Pakistan may run out of the water by 2025, Pakistanis have taken on the challenge of proving the world wrong.

The total cost of the Diamer-Basha Dam is estimated to be around Rs 1,450 billion.

SBP has released the day-wise data for the donations collected till 30th July 2018. People of Pakistan have donated generously, putting their trust in CJP to use their donations for the national cause. Here is how the daily contributions stack up:
