Huawei Thanks Apple for “Keeping Things the Same”

Apple launched its latest, most powerful trio of iPhones – including iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR – yesterday with the exact same designs as the older iPhone X, and pretty much similar features.

This was an important launch for smartphone companies, media channels, and other related entities, as Apple has remained one of the dominant figures in the smartphone market. Huawei, another smartphone-maker that has a significant presence in the market, decided to troll Apple over Twitter.

Its latest tweet responded to Apple’s launch, thanking the company “for keeping things the same”. This was a good opportunity for Huawei to tease its upcoming flagship launch, presumably the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro duo.

The Chinese giant was quick to point out that its launch is going to be “beyond consistency”, “beyond horizon”, and “beyond intelligence”. We don’t know what that means either, but it might be pointing to some new breakthrough features (and probably AI).

This teaser is for Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro’s announcement, scheduled to be held on October 16 in London. The duo is part of company’s flagship series. It was quick to troll Apple for sticking to its older design with minor changes, so we can expect Huawei to reveal something big in the coming days.

For now, both phones are in the rumor mill, and there’s not much we can say about their specifications. They are highly likely to run Huawei’s Kirin 980 chipset, a 7nm processor much similar to Apple’s recently-launched A12 Bionic that came with the new iPhones.

We’ll let you know when more information becomes available.
