Three More Punjab Cities Added to Naya Pakistan Housing Programme

The federal government on Monday announced that it was going to add three more cities of Punjab to Prime Minister Imran Khan flagship housing scheme, Naya Pakistan Housing Programme.

Nankanasahib and the two tehsils of Samundri and Jaranwala are the three recent additions to the scheme.

With these inclusions, the total number of cities listed in the housing programme has gone to 22 with Dera Ghazi Khan and Muzaffargarh from South Punjab being added last week.

An official of the Ministry of the Housing told Associated Press last week that the Ministry had been decided to include two more cities from South Punjab namely Dera Ghazi Khan and Muzaffargarh in Naya Pakistan Housing Programme following which the number of total cities under this programme would be 19.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had rolled out the mega housing project on 10th of October under which as many as five million low-cost houses are to be constructed for the underprivileged class across the country in the next five years.

Initially, the project was initiated in seven districts including Islamabad, Quetta, Sukkur, Faisalabad, Swat, Muzaffarabad, and Gilgit as a pilot scheme.

A week later, 10 more cities including Lahore, Multan Gujranwala, Jhelum, Bahawalpur, Sialkot and Kasur, Layyah, Vehari and Rahim Yar Khan were added to the low-cost housing initiative.

In the first phase, the project will start in Islamabad, Sukkar, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Quetta, Swat and Faisalabad.

The scheme’s pilot project in Faisalabad is currently underway.

You can download the registration form from NADRA’s website. Fill in the form carefully and submit it at the selected district offices within two months (until December 21) along with registration fee of Rs 250.
