In collaboration with Sehat.com.pk, Careem Pakistan, during this year’s smog season, distributed free smog kits, awareness flyers and provided health check-ups to its partners at heart, captains (drivers) and customers, enlightening them about how to be well-prepared to avoid health hazards and take safety precautions which otherwise can lead to increase in the number of accidents.
Smog in Pakistan’s second largest city is now known as its “Fifth Season”, which brings it to a complete stand-still. Last year’s statistics recorded by air quality monitors revealed dangerous levels of air pollution in all major cities of Pakistan, with Lahore topping the charts by exceeding the safety limit by 9 times. Other than worsening health indicators there is no visibility leading to a navigation crisis resulting in an increase in the number of accidents on roads.
Careem Pakistan partnered with Sehat.com.pk to combat this challenge for its captains and customers by providing them relief in the form of kits and information so that they can be better equipped to avoid any unwanted circumstances.
Highlighting the importance of being well prepared for the smog season, Ammar Naveed, General Manager Lahore for Careem Pakistan said:
