PixelArt Games Academy to Organize Games Emerge Conference on 17th November

PixelArt Games Academy (PGA) is all set to organize the Third Games Emerge Conference and Pakistan Games Showcase on 17th November 2018 – aiming to bring Pakistan into the stage of global video game development community along with creating more opportunities for the budding industry of video game development in Pakistan.

The aim of the conference is to promote video game development and creative industry of Pakistan along with bringing them to acknowledgment. The conference’s goal is to provide learning for students and industry personals in Pakistan. GEC will also provide an opportunity for gathering people at one place and provide them a platform to share knowledge, learn and network. The presence of industry stake holders in the conference will make the networking and learning session more important.

Games Emerge Conference 2018 has TECH Pakistan, Careem, Bookitnow.pk, Bogo.pk, ProPakistani, Teamup, Cyberjack studios, Shaoor Foundation, International Game Developers Association and Pakistan Game Developers Association on board as partners. Dream node Studios and Cloudcade Pakistan are providing Platinum and Gold Sponsorships, respectively.

GEC 2018 will feature speakers from international industry including Kate Edwards from Takethis, former IGDA Executive, Brie Code from TRU LUV, Former AI Lead at Ubisoft Montreal, Lauren Clinnick from Lumi Interactive, Robin Yang from CodeCombat, Celia Hodent from from Epic Games, Jilly Murray from Discoglobe Interactive Inc., Ahmed Shah Nawaz from Google (Singapore),Ian Schriber, Co-founder of Global Game Jam &Professor of RIT University USA, Robert Kingett who is a blind journalist and activist for disabled people from Chicago and etc. From the local industry, GEC will have QasimMeher Assad from Mindstorm Studios, Mehran Khan from Megaparticle Ltd., Sadia Bashir from PixelArt Games Academy, UmairAzfar Khan from Habib University, AbeerKaisari from Aktonify, Farah Ali from Electronic Art Inc., Adil Qayyum from Northbay Solutions, M. Special talks along with workshops will be given by current industry professionals and veterans covering different tracks including Game Design & Production, AI in Games, Art & Animations, Sound Design & Composition, Video Game Narratives, User research in Games, Mobile Games Market & User Monetization, Quality Assurance in Games, AR/VR/MR and UI/UX. The sessions will be the mix of presentations, panels and hands-on workshops.

Games Emerge Conference is organizing Pakistan Games Showcase to provide a platform where game developers can showcase their creations and reach out to potential investors, mentors and other members of the games industry. It will have a panel of judges who will select top 3 games based on the criteria and the winners will be given awards & prizes from Dreamnode Studios.
