PIA to Start Two New International Routes from Sialkot & Lahore

Pakistan International Airlines is planning to induct four new aircraft to its fleet to launch new international routes, airline’s top official said today.

This was announced by the newly-appointed CEO and the President of the national flag-carrier, Air Marshall Arshad Malik, on Wednesday.

He was addressing PIA employees in a ceremony held in the head office today.

On the occasion, Air Marshall Arshad Malik said the fleet enhancement plan was already in progress and that the airline would soon increase its access across the world.

CEO of the airline said he had joined the post with a vision to bring PIA among the world’s leading airlines, as it was once in the 1960s.

“We together with the collective wisdom and efforts would make it happen,” Malik said, adding that the task was achievable with positive approach due to great potential the airline possesses to rise.

Sialkot-Barcelona Flights Soon

Air Marshal Arshad Malik vowed to strictly follow the route rationalization policy and urged the introduction of new viable routes.

“We have already started Sialkot-Sharjah, and Lahore-Muscat flights and the results are very encouraging. Very soon we are going to launch flights on Sialkot- Barcelona and Lahore-Bangkok sectors,” he added.

Salary Raise of PIA Employees

The new CEO said he was well aware of the problems faced by the employees such as low salary structure of employees with lower cadre.

He urged all the employees to work together as a team and promised to revise their salaries as soon as the national airline comes out of the financial crisis.
