Govt Increases Petrol and Diesel Prices Again

The prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) will again go higher tonight after US-Iran tensions added more fuel to panic in the international oil market, sources informed ProPakistani a short while ago.

Earlier this week, an alleged artificial shortage of petrol led to the closure of several fuel stations across different cities in Pakistan.

Petrol will rise by nearly Rs. 5/litre to Rs. 315 per litre, while diesel will be increased by roughly Rs. 30/litre to sell for Rs. 354 per litre.

An official notification by the Petroleum Division will soon be shared to confirm the new rates.

The new rates will remain in effect after midnight, but will be changed every day until further notice.

Meanwhile, the uncertainty in global crude prices has created panic in the market after the US restarted its war against Iran.

At the time of press, Brent was trading at $87 per barrel.

Last week, petrol was increased by Rs. 13 to Rs. 310 per litre, while diesel was increased by Rs. 14 to Rs. 324 per litre.
