All You Need to Know About Samsung Galaxy S10 [Leak]

Samsung is gearing up to launch its next best phone, the Galaxy S10, in February. And as usual, most of the specifications and design details of the S10 series have already leaked and we have a pretty good idea of what to expect from the phones.

This is also the 10th-anniversary of Samsung’s S-series, so it should be pretty special and will consist of three different models of the S10.

What to expect

As mentioned earlier, there are going to be 3 variants of the S10 this year. A standard S10, S10 Plus, and S10 Lite.

The S10 Plus is going to be the biggest among the 3 and is also expected to have a better camera. The S10 Lite, as the name suggests, will be the lowest tier S10 which will be smaller and cheaper than the other two.

Design and Display

As far as the designs and displays of these models are concerned, we’re going to see three different screen sizes this year.

The S10 Plus is rumored to have a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display while the S10 will have a 6.2-inch screen and S10 Lite will have a 5.8-inch screen.

The Lite version will have a flat display, unlike the S10 and S10 Plus.

In usual Samsung fashion, there is going to be no notch on the three phones but there will be a punch-hole camera at the top of the display, or as Samsung calls it, the “Infinity O” display.

For the regular S10 and S10 Lite, there will be a single camera on the display but on the S10 Plus, you will see two of them side by side on the top right corner of the screen.

Live Image

We’ve already seen 3D renders of the phones, however, today we’re looking at the first live photo of the S10 Plus.

It doesn’t exactly look subtle with two black holes on the display but it will probably look better once we see it up close.

The S10 and S10 Lite will only have a single front-facing camera and it does look good in this leaked photo by Evan Blass.

Most importantly, for all three variants, the bezels at the top and bottom have been trimmed down further and it gives the S10 a nice edge-to-edge look.

Cameras

As far as the cameras are concerned, triple cameras are all the rage these days and Samsung is following suit as the S10 Plus is rumored to have a triple camera set up this year while the other two variants will have a dual camera setup.

As for the triple camera setup on the S10 Plus, there is going to be a 12MP main sensor like the one on the S9+ with a variable aperture of f/1.5-f/2.4. The second sensor will be a 13MP shooter with an f/2.4 aperture and the third is a 16MP wide-angle with a 123-degree field of view.

There’s no reliable leak about the front-facing cameras so your guess is as good as ours.

Performance and Battery

The performance is something that we are very excited about. The S series will see a major upgrade in performance this year.

The S10 series will be powered by either a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset or Samsung’s own Exynos 9820, depending on the market.

The Exynos 9820 is built on an 8nm process, has 8 cores and consumes 10% less power than the 9810. The performance also sees a boost, with the 9820 offering 20% better single core performance, 15% better multi-core performance, and 40% better power efficiency.

There’s also an integrated neural processing unit, much like what we saw on the HiSilicon Kirin 970.

Where you’ll really notice a difference is in games since the GPU comes with a 40% performance boost and 35% better power efficiency.

RAM options are going to be 8GB for the S10 Plus while the S10 and S10 Lite will come with 6GB of RAM.

Powering all of this is going to be a 4,000mAh battery in the S10 Plus, a 3,500mAh battery in the S10 and a 3,100mAh battery in the S10 Lite.

Launch Date

Samsung has already sent out invites for its Galaxy Unpacked event, which is due in February. The S10 will be unveiled on 20th February at the event, which is being held in San Francisco, California.
