Chief Justice Khosa Has No Social Media Presence: Supreme Court

Supreme Court has clarified that the newly-appointed Chief Justice, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa, does not have any social media accounts.

A notice issued from the public relations office of the apex court on Saturday denied Justice Khosa’s presence on social media platforms.

“It is clarified that his lordship [CJP] is neither using any Twitter or Facebook account, nor page, nor any other ID or any other social networking websites,” the notice read.

The clarification came hours after a fake Twitter account in the name of Justice Khosa was identified.

The top court further directed the concerned authorities to look into the matter.

“Moreover, concerned quarters i.e. Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) have also been asked to block such names, IDs, and pages, and take legal action against delinquents in accordance with law,” it added.

Justice Asif Saeed Khosa was sworn in on Friday, January 18, as the 26th Chief Justice of Pakistan in a ceremony held at President House, Islamabad.

CJP Khosa will serve as the top judge of the country for almost eleven months and is due to retire on Dec 21, 2019.
