Telenor Posts 8% YoY Revenue Growth During Q4 2018

Telenor Pakistan reported a positive fourth quarter with revenue growth and strong profitability with subscription and traffic revenues increasing by 12% and total revenues showing an increase of 7.9%, reaching PKR 28.220 Billion, up PKR 2.057 Billion from the same quarter last year.

Telenor said that the increase in revenue is due to the positive impact due to the temporary abolishment of taxes on cellular services from June 2018 onwards.

Increased revenues from data services also helped the company to grow its ARPU by 6 percent during the reported period, reaching Rs. 211 per user per month.

EBITDA increased by 15% and was mainly driven by revenue growth but also solid cost control and implementation of common delivery centre on the network from the second quarter.

Telenor said that its EBITDA margin was 51.3% during the reported period.

The number of subscriptions rose by 0.6 million during the quarter, taking the total userbase to 43.5 million, which is 5% higher than last year.

Telenor managed to control its opex while CapEx was mainly related to network roll-out in addition to investments in IT infrastructure.
