PIA Ready to Bring Back Freed Prisoners from Saudi Arabia

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) said on Tuesday that the national flag-carrier is ready to bring back Pakistani prisoners who have been freed from Saudi Arabian jails.

CEO Arshad Malik also welcomed Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman’s order to release over 2100 prisoners languishing in Saudi jails over minor crimes.

He said the PIA management was waiting for the government’s nod in this regard.

“PIA is ready to offer its services to bring back its fellow Pakistanis. As soon as we receive an official order from the government, we will start the operation,” he said.

Following Prime Minister Imran Khan’s special request, Saudi crown prince had ordered an immediate release of 2107 prisoners from Saudi jails – a gesture that won millions of hearts.

Following the order, both, prime minister and the president thanked the royal guest for the visit and also expressed gratitude to the royal dignitary for ordering the release of Pakistani prisoners.
