Takhleeq Transforms its Cafe into a Business Incubator

Takhleeq Business Incubator, the incubation facility of the University of Central Punjab (UCP), has transformed their in-house café as a dedicated Café Incubator that will house an entrepreneur starting their food business, providing rent-free space for 6 months and expert mentoring on how to successfully run a café. This innovative idea has never been tested before in the incubation ecosystem.

UCP has been actively fostering the culture of entrepreneurship in their student body and Takhleeq is playing an active role in this. During the 6-month long incubation program, the startups go through a rigorous regimen from ideation to building their products and going out in the market. The idea is to get their products and solutions scalable enough so that they are ready to raise investment.

The Café incubator will be engaging an industry expert, an entrepreneur that has successfully started his/her café business to share the learnings of its journey. For this purpose, the first mentor to be onboard is Haris Habib, Founder, and CEO of Daily Deli Co.

His burger joint is well-known in the industry with an inspirational journey, starting from a single take away point to a full-fledged restaurant in 3 years. Haris will be mentoring the incubated startups on every aspect ranging from the operations, menu design, staff hiring, pricing, customer service, managing the finances etc.

The program has incubated its first startup run by Mr. Furqan Ali, a student of Pharmacy from UCP, who will be part of this incubator for next six months and will be going through the entire process with the hope that by the end of the program, he will be in a solid position to run his business.

“Everyone is focusing on Tech and tech related products as their startups, but we plan to innovate and tap into other areas, that holds huge potential for entrepreneurs to start their businesses. This initiative is on the same lines and we plan to position Takhleeq as a leading force in the ecosystem by producing sustainable startups,” said Uzair Shahid, Sr. Incubation Manager at Takhleeq.
