Reports are abound that the new Suzuki Alto 2019 along with all its variants will be showcased at the Pakistan Auto Show 2019; the event is put together by the Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM).
Termed the “biggest reveal of 2019”, the company through a Facebook post has invited everyone to witness it, stating:
Join us at Expo Center Karachi from 12th – 14th April and witness the biggest reveal of 2019 at the PAPS 2019. Suzuki Pakistan is proud to be your reliable partner with the largest network of authorized dealerships all across Pakistan.
According to rumors, all three variants of the model will be unveiled, they are
- Suzuki Alto VX (without AC)
- Suzuki Alto VXR (with AC)
- Suzuki Alto VXL AGS (with AC and automatic transmission)
At the outset, only corporate clients will be able to book these variants and delivery will start after the launch. One of Pak Suzuki’s dealers, Naseer Autos will be charging Rs. 5 lac for the advance corporate booking.
Launch in June
The auto maker will be launching the variants in June 2019 and the price of these models will be announced subsequently but according to reports they will be between Rs. 8 lac to 12 lac.
Earlier, we had stated that the company was starting production of the 660cc Alto in Pakistan and now, according to source, the automobile maker has started receiving parts from its supply vendors after the company shared the parts supply schedule with them.
What More to Expect?
Small cars like Mehran have played a crucial role in curating a string vendor based industry as 70% of its parts were developed locally and the same trend could be seen with the new Alto because according to the vendors, Pak Suzuki wants to produce at least 50% parts locally and over 80% of the Mehran vendors have been retained to produce parts for the new model. Setting everything aside, the price tag could make or break the new Alto as new cars and manufacturers have appeared on the block
The dismal performance by the Rupee against the Dollar has placed tremendous pressure on the company with regards to the introductory price. At the Pakistan Auto Parts Show 2019. Leading financial institutions will be present to help with the financing deals.
Nevertheless, this is an amazing opportunity for all the relevant parties to showcase the capabilities of the local auto sector.
