Punjab Govt Will Launch Crackdown Against Hoarders and Profiteers Before Ramadan

As the holy month of Ramadan nears, the prices skyrocket for all kinds of products especially fruits and items of daily use for Iftaar and Sehar.

In a bid to keep a check on the prices this year, the Punjab government has decided to initiate a crackdown against profiteers starting from Tuesday this week.

Punjab’s Food Minister, Sami Ullah Chaudhary and Political Adviser to Chief Minister, Muhammad Akram Chaudhry will supervise the entire process to ensure that the illegal price hikes are dealt with ahead of Ramadan.

Punjab government’s spokesperson said that firm action will be taken against the violators and hoarders. Ramadan is expected to start from 5th May and the government needs to act proactively otherwise the masses will suffer at the hands of hoarders and profiteers yet again.
