Officials Ask DG Rangers for Help as Karachi Board’s Urdu Paper Goes Viral Before Exam

The question paper for Urdu exam of Intermediate Part-I of Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has been leaked well before the official start time of the exam.

This is the eighth day of the board exams and the eighth question paper to get leaked. The question paper and its solution went viral on social media the night before the exam.

Finally, Controller Examinations (CE) BIEK, Muhammad Azeem Siddiqui, has written a letter to Director General (DG) of Pakistan Rangers, admitting that the board is helpless in countering cheating in examination and that they are receiving death threats in case they don’t comply with the cheating mafia.

He sought help from the DG Rangers in this regard. The CE has also called a press conference today to brief on the causes of leaked papers.

Meanwhile, the BIEK Chairman had claimed that they would stop cheating in exams while stressing that it is not the media’s job to curb the practice.

However, to date, the authorities seem helpless in prohibiting the ongoing activity. In the letter, the controller examinations has told the DG Rangers that he is being pressurized to sell the exam centers and allow cheating.

He further told that he is being asked to leak the papers before they reach the examination hall and allow tampering in the exam marks.

Cheating in exam centers and question papers getting leaked has shadowed the board exams in Sindh for several years. But the authorities have failed to take action against the culprits of this organized crime.
