Pak Suzuki Increases the Prices of Its Cars Again

Pak Suzuki recently raised the prices of most of its vehicles. It has now announced another price hike for more of its models sold in Pakistan. The new prices that went into effect yesterday see an increase in the retail tag of Suzuki Cultus, AGS, Swift DLX NV and Swift AT NV go up by PKR 30,000.

To this effect, the company has issued a notification for all its authorized dealers which sees the prices of the following models go up by PKR 30,000.

  • Suzuki Cultus AGS: Rs. 1.668 million
  • Suzuki Swift DLX NV: Rs. 1.585 million
  • Suzuki Swift AT NV: Rs. 1.721 million

It is important to point out that these prices are inclusive the ex-factory and freight charges that will be incurred on the models to reach the dealership.

While no official reason has been given for the increase, it is safe to assume it was done due to the devaluation of the rupee against the US Dollar, which has led to an increase in the cost of imports and inadvertently increased the cost of production. Meanwhile, Suzuki has seen a massive drop in its profits and is now trying to outset it with higher prices.

Prospective buyers, who did not submit the balance payment within the due date, will have to pay the new price with immediate effect.

The company had increased the prices in March by PKR 40,000 and PKR 100,000 for both the locally manufactured models as well as the CBUs.

In June, the company plans to launch the Suzuki Alto 660cc and its booking price has been set at PKR 9.5 million.
