Punjab government has conditioned motorcycle purchase with the availability of driving license.
The new order is initially for Lahore only and will come into effect immediately after which no motorbike will be registered without showing a drivers’ permit.

According to sources, the move is to ensure that all the new motorcycles are registered against licensed drivers so that the violators of traffic rules and e-challans can be easily traced.
In the next step, car purchasers will also require to produce a valid driving license for vehicle registration.

Very good step, in principle. I endorse it on both car and m/cycle.
But would it meet the same doom as did the ban on non-filer to purchase new vehicle??? i.e. ban lifted after some time probably after heavy bribing from car makers.
Compliments Punjab Authority/Enforcements on this move to tag license with the bike. Essentially this be with car as well. On the ocassion of UN Road Safety/Traffic Week should be a mass move from enforcement agencies to check license, than validity/authenticity. The big question why people do not use public transport when the Government has put billions of Forex for Metro, Buses, Mobility buses from China, Turkey with state subsidy, to protect from pollution they should be used. We understand other provinces Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, etc., etc. We have to make our cities clean, green.
