Authorities Seize Thousands of Smartphones & Tablets in a Foiled Smuggling Attempt

Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) have successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle mobile phones and tablets worth millions of rupees. The gadgets were brought into the country through illicit means and without paying any taxes.

According to the PCG spokesperson, during routine checking at Windar checkpost near Khari Naka, Balochistan, the coast guards found that a number of gadgets were being smuggled.

They seized 5,492 foreign cell phones and 173 tablets that were being smuggled in trucks. The cost of seized gadgets is in millions of rupees.

The spokesperson further told that the raid was conducted on two different trucks. Both trucks were going to Karachi. Moreover, the entire consignment was brought to Pakistan through illegal means, he told.
