The Japanese government is interested in relocating its automobile industry to Pakistan said Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi (SMQ) on Friday.
While addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Qureshi said the Japanese authorities have engaged with Islamabad after a gap of seven years.
The minister said that Japan intends to increase exports to the Gulf and neighboring states and that these industries would employ 65 percent of Pakistani youth to sustain economic growth.
Commenting on his canceled visit to Sri Lanka, SMQ said it was postponed on the request of Sri Lankan government over security concerns and that it can be rescheduled after the month of Ramadan.
“I, however, visited High Commission consulate in Pakistan to pay condolences over the Easter church and hotels attacks,” the foreign minister said, adding that Prime Minister Imran Khan also condemned the attacks during a phone call to his Sri Lankan counterpart.
Qureshi said that India failed to provide United Nation’s Sanctions Committee with the evidence of Masood Azhar’s involvement in Pulwama attack.
“Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is facing strong criticism from the opposition on the development, and its own people are also questioning its victory claims,” he said.
Shah Mehmood affirmed that Pakistan would continue to support the Kashmir cause without accepting any international pressure.
He maintained that India blatantly violates the ceasefire and kills innocent civilians every other day on the Line of Control, while Pakistan only retaliates to the unprovoked firing, keeping safety measures of Kashmiris across the border in check.
