Telenor Pakistan, one of the country’s leading telecom operators, has won four prestigious awards at the Effie Awards 2019 including Two Golds, One Silver, and one Bronze in different categories.
One of the Gold awards was won for ‘Direct Carrier Billing’ solution in the ‘Internet & Telecom’ category and shared with Ogilvy Pakistan and OMD Pakistan agencies. Telenor Pakistan’s Direct Carrier Billing is a first-of-its-kind solution that enables Telenor users to purchase digital content using their mobile balance.
The company aced Gold for ‘North Plan’ campaign in the ‘Corporate Reputation’ category with Coremedia, OMD Pakistan, Active Media and Ogilvy Pakistan as the agency partners. The North Plan campaign stemmed from the insight that customer needs a solid network that is reliable regardless of the territory, accessible to them in good and bad times and Telenor Pakistan proved to be that reliable partner.
Telenor Pakistan also won a Silver for kids’ internet literacy initiative ‘iChamp’ in the ‘Positive Change Social Good – Brands (Services)’ category with Adcom and Manhattan Communications (Pvt.) Ltd., along with Heptagon, Active Media, Ignite and Brandlogics being the agency partners. The iChamp (Internet Champion) program educates schoolchildren on safe and constructive use of the internet in an increasingly digital age. Through this initiative, Telenor Pakistan’s efforts were recognized to raise awareness amongst the Pakistani youth about the power of data so they may realize their potential.
The company won a Bronze award for its live TV app ‘Goonj’ in the ‘Apps & Software’ category sharing the award with Ogilvy Pakistan and OMD Pakistan/DMD. Goonj is one of Pakistan’s leading network-neutral video streaming apps that allows users to stream over 25 Pakistani TV channels and get real-time video news updates.
Effie Pakistan is a not-for-profit initiative between Pakistan Advertisers Society and Effie Worldwide. It stands for effectiveness in marketing communications, spotlighting marketing ideas that work and encouraging thoughtful dialogue about the drivers of marketing effectiveness. The annual award is presented to recognize the most significant achievements in marketing communications.
