Careem and Unilever Partner for a Cost Effective Logistics Solution

Careem and Unilever Pakistan have entered into a strategic partnership where Careem has agreed to provide an app based solution to Unilever for its logistics business.

The digital solution provided by Careem will improve service levels and cost for Unilever by implementing new business models through innovative technologies. Key target areas that will be focused in the solution include the delivery of leftover stock that can be transported through Careem, delivery of stock to remote locations, as well as urgent deliveries.

Asad Haider Khan, General Manager Careem Pakistan, said on the occasion,

Careem wants to simplify and improve the lives of people in this region and providing safe, reliable and affordable freight solutions to consumers and businesses is a big part of that mission. We are excited to partner with Unilever to provide an on-demand freight solution, as a valued customer for Careem for Business’. We look forward to a long term relationship as both businesses strive towards creating an efficient freight marketplace.

The app will allow the transport requirements of partner organizations such as Unilever to be catered to through any available vendor saving time and costs. This will also create the opportunity for corporate entities to use vendors that are currently not registered with them.

Insia Adnan, Head of Logistics and Distribution, Unilever, stated;

A responsive and flexible supply chain is a key to win in the marketplace today and a partnership with Careem gives us a competitive advantage in both these areas.

In order to lead the digital disruption in the FMCG sector in Pakistan, both Careem and Unilever can take advantage of the opportunity that exists in providing the corporate sector with digital solutions to their logistics needs.

  • There can be only one CEO at a time, Mr Dara Khosrowshahi gave PowerPoint presentation. I’m quoting CSS (City Storage Systems) better known as Cloud Kitchens. Uber buys/leases real estate which it fit out with kitchen equipment and hen rents out to restaurants serving food delivery services such as Uber Eat. This is one of hundreds which possibly have a following Mr. Asad GM that may provide solutions in logistics, as Ride Sharing under CSR of Uber highly recommends to adhere the United Nations Road Safety Week. Careem, Uber has to show to the market place heir commitment for Ride Sharing, as they did not contribute sincerely to the city of Karachi. I have specially requested the international satellite providers to participate in identifying road safety flaws, Avoid accidents, pedestrians, pedestrian walk ways, signalling of traffic breach violators, from satellite and reporting to the enforcement authorities are the areas of Karim, Uber to help the enforcement authorities how they could use the intelligence sharing from satellite on road safety, and zero injury, accident in Karachi. Pakistan provide tremendous opportunity to Uber, Careem for whole life. Regards

  • Janab Asad Haider Khan Manager Careem Pakistan glad to know your association with Unilever. My dear brother our SMB sector for small business are the best prospect of your platform. At the surge of fuel prices the SMB (Small Medium Business) which contributes the highest tax to the Fed., and provides self employment, innovation, competitive prices, new product launches, and yet paying Rs.1500-2000 to Suzuki wala. So our Rickshaw is tthe best mode of transportation of cargo. The only thing wrong why you don’t announce and comply with the “Ride Sharing” in Uber and Careem. Please do enable the Ride Sharing to bring the smile on the face of hard working young men, who suffer because of high prices.
