A dramatic tie in the 3rd ODI of the series against South Africa women has helped Pakistan climb to the 5th position in the ICC Women’s Championship.
The series was leveled at 1-1 following a tie in the final ODI of the series at Benoni. Earlier, Pakistan had won the opening fixture by bowling out South Africa for 63, whereas the second ODI saw them lose to a resurgent opposition at Potchefstroom.
Pakistan is now placed at 5th position with 15 points from as many games with a net run rate of -0.23. Pakistan is one point clear of New Zealand whereas West Indies is ranked at 7th spot with 11 points.

Pakistan Women has enjoyed a great journey so far and if they continue to play well and end up in top 4, barring New Zealand, they will get a direct spot for ICC Women’s World Cup to be held in New Zealand in 2021.
