Utility Stores Will Now Be Open for 12 Hours in Ramadan

Following the uninterrupted supplies of commodities, the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) has increased the working hours for the stores across the country.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the USC spokesperson said that they are extending the timings of all the Utility Stores.

He said the working hours of the stores situated in supermarkets and smaller markets have been increased by two hours to 12 hours.

“The Utility Stores in supermarkets will remain open from 10 am to 10 pm. In small markets, stores timing will be from 9 am to 9 pm,” he said.

Working hours for the stores located in rural areas will be eleven and a half hours and they will be open from 8 am to 7:30 pm, he said.

Moreover, Utility Stores will also be open on Sundays.

“The new schedule is initially for Ramadan,” he said, adding that the step was taken to facilitate the public during the holy month.

He said the Corporation had cleared the backlog payments of vendors, which has resulted in an improved supply.

“Almost all the stores have ample supplies of edibles and essential household items,” he added.
