Sri Lanka Likely to Play One Test Match in Pakistan this October

In response to Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) offer, Sri Lankan Cricket Board (SLC) has reportedly agreed to play at least one Test match in Pakistan.

PCB had invited Sri Lanka to play a two-match Test series in October-November this year. The new SLC chief had also confirmed that the talks between the two boards are heading in the right direction.

However, they are still reluctant to send their team for a complete Test series. So far, Sri Lanka wants to play one of the two-Test matches in Pakistan. PCB will host that game either in Karachi or Lahore, while the second Test will be organized in Dubai.

As per sources, the matter will be finalized during the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) meeting in September.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has also invited the CEOs of Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi cricket boards to visit Pakistan. They will be briefed about the security situation in the country to address their concerns.

The board is hopeful to host Sri Lanka this year and Bangladesh early next year.

If these tours go as planned, it will provide a massive boost to PCB’s efforts for the revival of international cricket in the country.
