Fortune Global 500 aka Global 500 is an annual ranking of top 500 companies in the world calculated, analyzed and published by the Fortune magazine. Just recently, 2019’s Global 500 was published and Xiaomi, the relatively young Chinese company, managed to secure 468th place.
This doesn’t come as a surprise considering the company jumped from approx. $1,453.72 million (in 2012) revenue to approx. $14,537.21 million in revenue (in 2017) in five years. Xiaomi was also named in Fortune’s China 500 list at 53rd place this year.
Lei Jun, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, said,
It took Xiaomi only nine years to make the Fortune Global 500 list, a milestone that we owe a big thank you to all our Mi Fans and users for their unwavering support. We are also the youngest company on this year’s list, a proud record that we will keep in mind and bring to another level in the global expansion journey.
The company still has a long way to go but this is a big step ahead for Xiaomi considering the company is only 9 years old. It showcases how much the Chinese company has achieved in such a short time.
