German Development Bank to Provide €12 Million For Healthcare Services in KP & GB

The German Development Bank will provide grant assistance of 12 million Euros for the provision of quality healthcare services in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, reported Radio Pakistan.

The financial contribution shall be used exclusively for the development of social health protection schemes in the two provinces to provide quality health care services.

Under the agreement, the German Development Bank will provide 2.6 million Euros for Gilgit-Baltistan and 9.4 million Euros for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The financing agreements in this regard were signed by Economic Affairs Division Secretary, Noor Ahmed and German Development Bank (KfW) Country Director, Wolfgang Moeller. Minister for Economic Affairs, Hammad Azhar also witnessed the signing ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister thanked the German government for the grant assistance which will be helpful in redressing critical health-related issues in far-flung regions of Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He lauded the initiative saying that it will positively impact the lives of the common man.
