Leisure Leagues Host Its National Championship

Leisure Leagues Six-a-Side Football National Championship was held on Sunday at People’s Stadium in Karachi.

A total of four teams – one from each province qualified for the national championship. These four teams nearly bested nearly 80 teams from across the country.

Peshawar’s Shinwari FC, Karachi’s Abdul FC, Lahore’s Bata FC and Gawadar qualified for national finals after winning KPK Region, Sindh Region, Punjab Region and Balochistan Region Championships, respectively.

The winner of the national championship will earn a prized ticket to Greece where the team will get a chance to represent Pakistan in the second edition of the Socca World Cup.

The tournament will be held in Crete, Greece from October 12 to 20. Last year, Lahore’s ICAW represented Pakistan in the inaugural edition, which was hosted by Portugal in Lisbon.
