PIA Diverts All Karachi-Bound Flights to Other Airports

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has diverted its Karachi-bound flights to other airports amid unfavorable weather conditions in the city.

The PIA spokesperson said in the statement that the national airline has issued an alert to all the airports, including Karachi, to deal with any emergency situation. He said that the airline will take care of all the passengers who will be facilitated at other airports.

The continuous downpour has caused a ruckus in Karachi, disrupting the routine life of the citizens. The city has received over 60mm rain so far. As much as 43mm rain has been recorded in North Nazimabad, 35mm in Korangi, 37mm in Gulshan-e-Hadeed, 34mm in Surjani Town, 32mm in Malir, 32mm in North Karachi, and 30mm in Federal B Area.

According to the Met department, the downpour is expected to continue for three more days. The system has entered Sindh from India’s Rajhastan area.
